In 1961 a successful businessman from Cuba by the name of Fermin Alfonso immigrated with his family to the United States. For many years he struggled to start a successful business here but in 1974 he decided to take chance on a dream. The dream was to bring a Cuban tradition of using the violet scent in a fragrance for children. This violet fragrance was a staple product in many Cuban homes with children. Thus the Violetas Francesas was created along with other products such as the 707 shampoo, conditioner, and ampoules. He grew the business for three years and unfortunately passed away in 1977. He left his company to his son Rene Alfonso.
With diligence and perseverance Rene began to sell the Violetas Francesas to small local Hispanic markets in Miami and was eventually able to sell to larger chain stores not only in Miami but in many other cities and states as well. He even started selling his products in other countries.
In 1982 as the Violetas Francesas became more popular Rene and his wife decided that it would be beneficial for the company to start manufacturing its own products. At this time he moved to a larger location and bought the machinery he needed to manufacture all of his products. While successfully manufacturing his own products he began to manufacture private labels for small companies and has been doing so since then.
It is now in 2013 that we have started our website so that those who have not been able to try our products will now have the chance.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers that we hear from so often through the years for making Fermin Alfonso’s dream come true in making the Violeta Francesas a staple product in your home. We know that without you there would not be an “About Us”.
